SERMON INFO
The Office of Elder #5: Responsibilities to Elders
Hebrews 10:19-25; 13:7-21

"Do you promise to submit in the Lord to the teaching & government of this church as being based upon the Scriptures & described in substance in the Constitution of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America? Do you recognize your responsibility to work with others in the church & do you promise to support & encourage them in their service to the Lord? In case you should need correction in doctrine or life, do you promise to respect the authority & discipline of the church?"
Covenant of Communicant Membership, Vow #4

I. Support Your Elders in Their Work
· Consider yourself (Heb. 10:19-23)
· Consider one another (Heb. 10:24-25)

II.  Submit to and Obey Your Elders (Heb. 13:17)
Seldom if ever in its long history has the world witnessed such a self-conscious revolt against authority. - John Stott
· Because of the nature of their work
· Because of their accountability
· Because of the depth of their care
· Because it will be to your advantage

Conclusion: pray for us(Heb. 13:19)
