Christians often associate evangelism with the proclamation of repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and they rightly do this, as repentance and faith are foundational principles of Jesus message. However, these foundational principles meant very little to the pagan nations to which Paul was sent and the same circumstances are prevalent in our pagan society. Therefore, when dealing with the unlearned, it is necessary for Christians to begin their presentation of the Gospel with the elementary principles of God as the Creator and sustainer (Providence)of all things. In this way, the individual can be directed toward the Living and True God to whom faith and repentance is due. |
