While Protestants rightly deny Roman Catholic teaching on the Lord's Supper, they often embrace a view which, while not by any means heretical, is none the less an inadequate understanding of the sacrament. The burden of this sermon is to show in a kind way the inadequacy of the 'Memorialist' view of the Lord's Supper, and to call God's people to a deeper, fuller, more biblical understanding of, appreciation for, and desire to participate in the means of grace that is Communion. |
