SERMON INFO
1. Some general principles of authority and responsibility.
All of our relationships are to be subject to Christ. Some general principles given, namely, that:-
- all legitimate authority comes from the Lord.
- saving grace does not set aside the created order, and that order is still to be reflected in the church and in marriage in particular.
- authority always brings accountability.
- the only exception to submission to God-given authority is when required to sin.

2. The God-given duty of wives to their husbands v18.
- submission of a women to her husband is part of her obedience to Christ.
- the reason for such submission is not cultural but a permanent principle.
- the extent of submission.
- a duty not to be set aside by naivety.
- a duty to be thought about before marriage.

3. The God-given duty of husbands to their wives v19.
- Husbands must love their wives in deed and truth and as Christ loves his church.
- an unmarried man should concern himself with his eligibility - am I qualified to lead a wife?

Five points of application.
