Description:
Three Addresses given at the first conference at Emmanuel Church, Salisbury in 1997.

1. 'The Importance of Purity of Worship' by Malcolm Watts. Worship is the human response to God's revelation of himself to us. But how are we to respond? How can we know that our worship is 'in spirit and in truth'? What does the 'regulative principle' mean, and how does it affect our worship?
2. 'The Westminster Directory of Public Worship' by David Silversides. How did the Puritans worship God and why did they do so as they did? Why are things so different today? Who is right?
3. How Should Our Churches Worship Today? by David Silversides. What is God's will in worship concerning prayer, preaching, reading his Word, singing his praise? What about 'open worship', or instrumental music, drama or dance? These issues must be faced from the Word of God and this book seeks to do that.
