There is a great privilege that is given to all who love and trust the Lord. It is the privilege of coming to Him in prayer directly through Jesus Christ rather than through any human priest. The Bible calls God’s people a kingdom of priests. It is this sort of kingdom rather than a political kingdom. In calling on the Lord in prayer, His people are able to intercede for themselves and for others. As we do so, we seek the fulfillment of God’s promises to us. As we come to know His promises we are able to plead that He would bring them to pass. So this is not a selfish privilege but one in which we seek first the glory of God and His rule over all society. Do you have this privilege? It is for all for whom Christ died to deliver them from the condemnation resulting from their sins. Even the slightest sin deserves God’s condemning power. But Jesus endured that condemnation for all who fully put their trust in Him. What a privilege to have His forgiveness and to be able to be the objects of His pleasure. We urge you to be sure you have this privilege by trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ.
