"Animal Rights", as opposed to godly kindness to animals and careful use of them, is a basic denial of the special creation of man. The position of many in the "animal rights" camp is that there is no essential difference between animals and people, and that killing of animals is murder; domestication of them is slavery. This leads to a doctrinaire vegetarianism that is called by the Apostle a "doctrine of demons".
Man is made specially in God's image, with dominion over the creatures. God allows, yes, commands at times the eating of meat. We must not attempt to be more "moral" than God. To try to do so is sin. |
