Abraham took God at his word and ascented to God's will for him. He trusted in God's promise to gift a land and rejoiced in his gracious promise even though he would never see it's completion. His motivation was thanksgiving as is ours as we look forward to the heavenly land promised to us in Christ and through his blood sacrifice.
