SERMON INFO
Idea: Isaiah promises the passing away of old things and the Lord making all things new. Christ initially fulfills this with His incarnation and ministry, and will bring consummation at His Second Coming. As you meditate on this passage, hear the voice of Christ who proclaims that He has come to make all things new. Find in Him freedom from condemnation, but also freedom from besetting sin, and give worship to Him.

Intro: Isaiah brings his prophecy to a close by proclaiming that the old things would pass away, but that many things would be made new. This should be especially connected to the promises of the coming of the Messiah that run through Isaiah. God gives Isaiah privilege to foretell the coming of the one who comes to judge the old things and to make things new. The very last verse can stand for the old things passing away. It provides a sober reminder of the vengeance of God, a scene of the wrath of the Lord against all His enemies. It stands as a final warning, but also as a reminder to us as believers that our Savior, Christ, has made us new. He has delivered us from the enemy and has delivered us from this very judgment. So today, to close our meditation on Isaiah we'll think on the Idea above. The outline is simple. Old things. New things.

1. Old Things
2. New Things

“And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”
