Christians find comfort and assurance of salvation, not in their own wavering faithfulness, but in God's love which causes them to persevere in active faith.
All those called by God to salvation will persevere in faith until the end. It stands over and against a wide spectrum of teachings that seek to answer the practical question of what do you do with the Christian who sins. As with the other doctrines of grace, I think you will find this teaching to give sweet comfort to us in this life. God grants us to see something from His perspective to encourage us in this life. |
