David was promised that his son would build the temple. Solomon built the first temple, but a greater than Solomon is here. He is building the final temple. He said, "Tear down this temple and in 3 days I will raise it up again." He was speaking of His body. Jesus did rise and He is building His body the church, a temple, the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. He is building it out of living stones gathered from all over the world. We are the temple of the living God; living stones being built into a living house. And as His kingdom will have no end, so we will be His holy temple forever. |
