One of the worst kings of Judah shut the doors to the temple and changed the worship which God had ordained. His son, Hezekiah was one of the best kings of Judah who opened the doors of the temple and re-established the proper worship. It is apparent that the closing and opening of the temple should be understood metaphorically as well as physically. The closing of the doors happens in the church today. Jesus pronounced one of His woes in Matthew 23 on those who shut people out of the kingdom. It is our duty to see that the Door, Jesus Christ, is set before men as open, just as John reports that he saw a door standing open in the heavenly sanctuary with the voice that told him to enter. May we be those who open the door to the Kingdom.
