Great Sermon! Such an important lesson, and so powerfully delivered by Reverend Stewart!
Back in 2016, my mother was diagnosed with ALS, and given a mere 18 months to live. My sister and I took care of her from that day onward, much to the amazement of our loved ones. They all knew that we NEVER got on with our mother, who was quite mean, and they wondered why we didn’t toss her in a home somewhere.
A few years prior to this, I probably would have. But I had since returned to the LORD, and I know it for a fact that He filled my heart with forgiveness and patience during this time. I was actually eager to bathe her, give her medicine, and feed her through a feeding tube. It was a wonderful way to get rid of our negative past, and to send Mom off into, hopefully, a positive future.
This experience taught me that as long as I do what I can, lovingly, cheerfully, the LORD will do the rest!
Amen and amen! |
