Bearing one another burdens is one of the mutual duties of the people of Christ's Church as an outworking of faith produced by the gospel. Bearing one another's burdens allows for the gentle restoration of those who are struggling in transgression; the restoration from sudden entrapping in the public sins common to all who profess faith. The bearing of burdens is not a call to bear the burden of the Law but to fulfill the Law of Christ in love. In love and obedience we are to look for opportunities to practice the mutual duty of bearing each others burdens. The Church which Christ is building is benefited by testing the loads we carry in burden bearing. As we bear one another's burdens we are to keep watch on our own responsibilities of faith. We are called to self examination rather than an examination of our brothers and neighbors.
