But God taught Israel that real living is to be found in seeking Him. Prosperity can be dangerous because it tends to lead us to think that we do not need the Lord. And a lack of prosperity should drive us to seek Him whether He is testing our faith by the trials or bringing us to realize how we have forsaken Him. So God calls to us as He called to Israel, "Seek me and live."
