Theme: The Duty of National Covenanting.
Definition: National covenanting is when the people and government of a nation consent to God's offer in the Gospel to be their God and vow to be his people and walk in his ways.
Doctrine: In the Gospel, Christ freely offers to be the God of all nations as nations, and for them to be his people; and they have a duty to respond to the free offer of the Gospel by joining themselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant.
Application: From this Doctrine we will see that we must have a concern for and work towards the salvation not only of individuals, but of families, cities, peoples, and nations, for the glory of our beloved Christ, King of Nations. |
