The Triumphal Entry marks the first day of the week on which Jesus Christ would be crucified. The entry into Jerusalem is a public proclamation of the Messiahship of Jesus as His hour had finally arrived. Among the assembled throng were those who truly believed and accepted Christ as the Savior, but others were swept along with the exuberance of the multitude. Ultimately many of the crowd would reject Jesus and demand His crucifixion. However, Jesus has taken a real kingdom for Himself and continues to rule and reign over His people, creation, and all things for His own glory.
