The Great Commission of Jesus in Mathew 28 tells us that along with leading people to a saving knowledge of Christ (preaching the Gospel and baptizing the saved) comes the responsibility of making disciples of those saved. We do not have the right to emphasize the first part and neglect the second. Many evangelical churches however do just that. They may be able to sing the song that 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or more have said the sinners prayer but the church attendance has increased zero or less. The emphasis cannot be on winning more lost but on making more disciples. You cannot make more disciples without first leading them to Christ so the soul winning is still in place. | more | less
