In the run-up to the British referendum at the end of June concerning Britain’s exit or inclusion within the European Union, one hears little if anything by anyone of a moral nature. Most of the debate centres around the economy, with politicians claiming to know what will best serve the nation’s financial interest. The United Kingdom has largely turned away from God and embraced the idols of silver and gold, much like the nation of Israel when they put their confidence in Egypt and in their alliances with the ungodly nations around them. Whatever has fuelled the nation’s decline, inclusion in the EU will do nothing to encourage the UK in its moral obligations before God.
This address sets out some of the real issues that should define the debate and provides us with some solid reasons, being biblical reasons, why the UK should leave the EU and seek a return to the old paths, to the uniqueness and exclusivity of the Christian gospel and to own the Kingship of Christ over the nations.
Psalm 2:10-12 “Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
