The Verdict When a teacher gives an exam there are at least two tests given. There is the test of the students’ understanding of the subject as well as his will to learn it. There is also a test of the teacher’s ability to teach the students effectively and to motivate them to learn the subject. In regard to the existence and nature of God, many are sitting in judgment of Him. Many think that it is up to them to decide whether God exists and what He is like. It is an attitude fostered by such things as majority rule and polls that are taken to make news. But while many sit in judgment in this manner on God, He sits in judgment on them—and they don’t even realize it! God’s existence and nature are not determined by polls or majority rule. He is. In fact, that’s what His name means: I am. He is; and we must each answer to Him for He sits in judgment on us. So what will you do with Him? Will you pretend to judge Him who is able to destroy you with a word or to grant you life without cost? Will you not rather submit to Him and enjoy Him whose grace is able to deliver you from judgment?
