SERMON INFO
The true believers and followers of Christ are instructed in this text to present ourselves as a living sacrifice according to the mercies of God. The Lord has provided the grace and mercy to his saints in order to accomplish this sacrifice. The body is emphasized as representing the entirety of the person and the extent of this acceptable sacrifice. This is the Christian's reasonable service and acceptable worship regulating the totality of life.

This sacrifice calls us the reject the thinking of this spirit of this age. Every age has its own character and spirit, but regardless of the mindset the philosophies of this world are to be rejected. Not only are these ideas to be rejected, but the saints are to be transformed and renewed in their minds to conform to the will of the Lord. This metamorphosis continues throughout the life of the believer and must be pursued each day to study that which is pleasing to the Father as shown in the scriptures. Filling the mind with that pleasing to God must be a regular and diligent and diligent activity in order to compete and drive out the distractions of this fallen world. The promise of mind renewal brings knowledge and understanding of the very will of God for this life.
