SERMON INFO
Introduction

I. A Reference to the Lord's Supper

• Luke 22:19 And He took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”

• Luke 24:30-31 When He was at table with them, He took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him.

• Luke 9:16 And taking the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.

• Luke 24:35, Then they told what had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of the bread.

• Normally you eat bread, not break bread. (Lk. 14:1, 15)

• 1 Corinthians 10:16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?

• 1 Corinthians 11:23-24, For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, “This is My body which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”

II. A Sign of the Lords' Covenant

Conclusion

• His death is our Exodus out of slavery
• His sacrifice is our Passover from the death angel
• His body is our Manna in the wilderness
• His resurrection is our guarantee of Promised Land inheritance
