SERMON INFO
Introduction

Genesis: Revelation, Revolution, and Redemption.

I. The Language of Creation

The combination of “heaven and earth” is found (at least) 214 times in the Bible (cf. Gen. 14:19, 22; Ex. 20:4, 11; Deut. 4:32-40; 10:12ff; 2 Kgs 19:14-19; 1 Chron. 29:11; 2 Chron. 2:11-12; 36:23; Job 38:4, 33; Ps. 89, 102, 115, 121, 124, 134, 146, etc.; Pro. 3:19; Is. 37:16; Jer. 32:17; 10:11-13; Zech. 12; Mk 13:27; Matt. 28:18; Acts 4:24; 14:15; 17:24; Eph. 1:10; Col. 1:16-20; Phil. 2:10; Rev. 4:11; 14:7; etc.).

The language is pervasive and shown to be part of everything that we believe in and do.

II. The Logic of Creation

A. Nothing is too hard for the Lord (Jer. 32:17; Rom. 8:35-39)

The logic of creation gives us the right context and motive to engage ourselves in various pursuits in the world.

B. Nowhere is too far for the Lord (Jn. 3:16; Mk. 13:27)

Knowledge of this Creator—the one living and true God—forms the foundation for world missions.

C. No one is too lost for the Lord (Acts 14:15-17; 17:22ff)

Paul moves from Creator to Christ.
