Numbers 10:1-10—Gospel Trumpets The trumpets are symbolic of the voice of the gospel sounding over the sacrifice of Christ; calling to remembrance our sins, Christ's blood shed for the forgiveness of our sins, and the resulting peace and communion we have with Him. Having heard the gospel trumpets on the Lord's Day, we are to go out into the wilderness, as good soldiers of Jesus Christ, to sound the gospel, calling people to trust in the sacrifice of Christ.
