God's rest still extended to sinners in the gospel though all was forfeited by sin - God's rest not enjoyed or entered upon merely by external participation, inclusion in the land of Canaan and the church visible does not secure us God's rest - all warned to seek God's rest through saving faith.
Application: - not all the visible church has entered into this rest. - only God's rest is worth having. God's rest promised through the gospel more glorious and blessed than Adam's unfallen state.
