“ Great Sermon! ”
This is an extremely doctrinal sermon. Unfortunately too many people get offended with truth because it contradicts their particular shallow understanding of proper division and context when studying scripture, as commanded by God (2 Tim.2:15). People give into popular myths and pour into the Bible their own tradition and assumptions. Let us study and search the scriptures to see whether those things be so. Excellent and poignant message! Where has the doctrine of hell disappeared to in our pulpits today???

“ Powerful message! ”
I am in number person I love math. So I had wondered in the past last year of 2014 why Ash Wednesday and Easter didn't match to 40 days. It can either be 46 or 47 days. So I googled it before. Supposedly and I believe it's the Fridays that you don't have to do your 40 days of fasting. Then it adds to 40 days. But for example if you were fasting from soda or ice cream and you go to someone's house and they offer you a soda or ice creme on your fasting days you are obligated to take it because the gift of hospitality and you are not breaking your fast. But I haven't finished listening to the message yet I'm 18 minutes into it.

“ Great Sermon! ”
My church is doing the 40 day studying right now. I have done praying circles around children even before my first son was born on 22 November 2014. My question is though I've been thinking that why read other people's books why not just focus on the word of God? Because most people say that JW's add and so do Mormons add and reading someone else's book is like adding to the word of God? Can someone help me here?

Unprofitable, claiming I don't know if discipline would work is passive, active is acknowledging it does work ecceptions proving the rule, and claiming church leaders are not responsible for others behavior is passive, active is claiming church leaders are responsible for their own teachings which effects the behavior of others. We don't close police departments and courthouses because one guy commits a crime, that's passive and will get you killed.

Modern Christians are unengaged in their congregations because they've been seduced into a passive thinking that you can't stop people from misdeeds. You've been lied to by your leaders (see Titus1:11) because they want you to be passive while they fleece the Lords heritage and leave Gods people vulnerable to attack (read John10:12). You need to pray sir and get the answers from the Lord not me.

Unprofitable Servant from Georgia, your passive talk enables church bullies, congragants are responsible for the church and leaders are to serve the church, not Lord over it (1Pt5:3) by neutralizing the members ability to protect themselves by dismissing the one thing that clearly separates protestants from Rome, formal discipline. According to reports, the killer, the slain wife, and their children were all active in church. Congragants knew the killer was unstable but were unable to protect themselves because Baptist leaders insist on centralized authority to control the congregation and limit congregational preasure. You can see how good that's done them: membership numbers on a death spiral (see SBC numbers), Pastors being exacuted in the pulpit, etc. You people better stand up and demand your local churches empower the congregation by reinstituting the authority given by the saviour to the "church," not Pastors (Mt18:17). God "rejects" those who refuse the "old paths" (Jer6:30).

Delores, according to Mt 18:15 the issue was between a witness and the adulterer, the Pastor was wrong to be involved and to attempt to physically dismiss the attendees: excommunication is not physical removal. But that is being attempted all over the country and resulting in suits (in viloation of 1Cor6:1), as well as slander, railings, and assaults. People, Baptists stole your preisthood and the preisthood of every believer over 100 years ago when they took formal corporate discipline out of your congregations; Baptists have already gone back to Rome, their polity is essentially "auricular" via Pastoral counciling. Gil Rugh's book mentioned by Jim Lincoln from Nebraska recommends pastoral counseling (if I remember correctly) which only increases the problem. Note: I almost went to the diceased Pastor James "Trippe" Battle's seminary but relented because of the observed internecine activity their.

This tragic event would have been prevented by an active church policy of discipline (see Matthew 18:15-17), but Baptists dismissed with active discipline over a century ago, so these kinds of things will continue to happen and even get worse (See Galatians 5:15) until they reinstitute formal church membership rolls and monthly conference meetings. Putting security guards in churches is absolutely useless, doesn't work, and way too expensive for average church to afford. Put the blame where it belongs,on ministry leaders not leading church according to the Scriptures.

No Baptist Church has had formal discipline in a century. What was described here was not church discipline. It was an appeal to reason without the ability to back it up with any formal action and will lead to abuse. To go back to the Baptist standard you wull need a real church roll (not free admittance) and regular conferance meetings to start with. No Baptist Church has either of these today.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Excellent interview, Praise God! for the simple Gospel message... " That in the ages to come He might shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus . For by grace you are saved through faith , and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph.2:7-9
