This helpful address gives very clear guidelines and reasons for modest dress whilst avoiding the extremes to which Islamists for example run, when they insist on a mode of dress as impractical as it is ineffectual in preventing that which it intends to prevent. How we dress is only part of the problem in preventing sexual impurity - but it is a part. In a society which positively (or ignorantly) promotes sexual lust by producing provocative and immodest clothing (especially for women), we need to be on our guard that we do not imbibe the world's ways but seek to honour Christ and choose what pleases him. "Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
